Commodity Watch: Zinc Futures Rise On High Bets

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Thursday rose by 65 paise to Rs 248.35 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by 65 paise or 0.26 per cent at Rs 248.35 per kg with a business turnover of 1,742 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices on Thursday decreased 35 paise to Rs 233.40 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell 35 paise or 0.15 per cent to Rs 233.40 per kg in 2,935 lots.
Copper futures decline on weak trend
Copper futures on Thursday slipped 0.73 per cent to Rs 841.15 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery eased by Rs 6.20 or 0.73 per cent to Rs 841.15 per kilogram in a business turnover of 4,714 lots.
